I believe that every child is uniquely wired — and every family deserves support that honors that individuality with compassion, curiosity, and respect. My approach blends developmental science with real-life parenting, helping families create healthy sleep habits and daily rhythms that feel both effective and sustainable. As a pediatric occupational therapist and sleep consultant, I view sleep as more than a routine — it’s a foundational part of a child’s growth, regulation, and emotional well-being. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all methods or rigid “rules.” Instead, I help parents tune into their child’s cues, trust their instincts, and make informed, responsive choices that support rest, resilience, and connection. Parenting is one of the most beautiful and challenging journeys — and you don’t have to walk it alone. I’m here to meet you where you are, guide you through the hard parts, and cheer you on as you and your child grow together.
In today’s digital world, there’s an app for everything—including sleep training. While apps can provide general guidelines, they lack the personal touch, adaptability, and reassurance that come with working one-on-one with a real expert.
When you work with a certified sleep consultant you get:
✓ A Personalized Sleep Plan – Every child is different, and what works for one child may not work for another. Apps rely on generic algorithms, while I tailor a plan specifically for your child’s unique sleep needs, temperament, and your parenting style.
✓ Ongoing Support & Adjustments – Sleep training isn’t one-size-fits-all, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. With my support, you won’t be left guessing or searching forums for answers—you’ll have direct access to an expert who can guide you through challenges.
✓ Confidence & Peace of Mind – Many parents second-guess themselves when sleep training. Having an experienced consultant by your side ensures you’re using a method that’s safe, effective, and aligned with your goals.
Apps can provide information, but they can’t offer reassurance, encouragement, and real-time guidance when you need it most. That’s where I come in!
One of the most common misconceptions I hear as a pediatric sleep consultant is that sleep training is only for infants. The truth? Sleep training can be incredibly effective for children of all ages. Sleep challenges don’t magically disappear as kids grow older. In fact, many parents find themselves struggling with bedtime battles, night wakings, or early morning wake-ups well into the toddler years and beyond. And just like babies, older children thrive on consistency, boundaries, and routines when it comes to sleep. Whether your child is 6 months, 18 months, 2.5 years, or even 4 years old, sleep training isn’t about “crying it out”—it’s about teaching them how to fall asleep and stay asleep independently, in a way that feels safe and secure for them and aligned with your parenting style.
Sleep training often gets a bad reputation, but it’s not about ignoring your child or causing distress. It’s about teaching your child independent sleep skills in a way that is age-appropriate, responsive, and suited to your comfort level. Sleep training is about tuning into your chlid's cues and responding to their needs.
Here’s what sleep training is not:
❌ Letting your child “cry it out” until they give up.
❌ Ignoring their needs or failing to comfort them.
❌ A one-size-fits-all method.
Here’s what sleep training is:
✔ Teaching your child how to fall asleep independently and sleep through the night.
✔ Creating a structured, predictable sleep routine that helps them feel secure.
✔ Using gentle, evidence-based methods that prioritize emotional well-being.
The short answer is: no, sleep training is not the same as Cry It Out. While the term "Cry It Out" is often used to describe sleep training, it’s just one of many approaches — and not the only option.
In your personalized sleep plan, we’ll explore a variety of methods, ranging from gentle and responsive techniques to more traditional strategies. You get to choose what feels right for your family, based on your parenting style, comfort level, and most importantly, your baby’s unique temperament.
It’s also important to remember that some fussing or crying may happen, even with gentle approaches — especially if your baby has strong sleep associations they’re learning to change. This kind of crying isn’t about being alone or unsupported. You’re there to comfort, guide, and reassure your baby as they adjust. Sleep training is never about leaving your child to cry without support — it’s about helping them learn to fall asleep in a way that feels safe, secure, and developmentally appropriate.
All feeding styles are welcome and supported — whether you’re breastfeeding, formula feeding, or doing a combination of both. I will never ask you to stop breastfeeding as part of sleep training. Overnight feeds can absolutely remain part of your baby’s sleep plan, and we’ll work together to support both feeding and rest in a way that feels right for your family.
Many parents worry that sleep training will harm their bond with their child. In reality, it benefits the whole family by ensuring everyone gets the rest they need.
For Children: Sleep is crucial for brain development, emotional regulation, and overall health. A well-rested child is a happier child! Learning independent sleep skills sets them up for better sleep habits as they grow.
For Parents: Sleep deprivation is exhausting and can lead to burnout, stress, and anxiety. You deserve rest, too. With better sleep, you’ll feel more present, patient, and able to enjoy your time with your child.
